When to Have a Twin Baby Shower
As you may expect, your guest of honor is going to get bigger, more uncomfortable, and may deliver sooner rather than later due to carrying twin babies!!
Depending on the type of twins, health of twin mama, and availability, I’d suggest having the twin baby shower no later than 32 weeks pregnant. For me, by the time I was 33 weeks pregnant I was SO uncomfortable and being in a social situation was a bummer if I needed to stand up for a long period of time or just not wallow in the pain and misery I was in.
That sounds horrible, I understand, but just being completely honest.
As twin mams it’s common to start measuring full term by the time we’re around 26 weeks along. If you’ve been pregnant before you may know how it feels to be 40 weeks pregnant and how uncomfortable that is. Just imagine going several weeks further than that!!! By the time I delivered my twins at 36 weeks along, I would have been measuring well past 50 weeks pregnant, if that were a thing!
All of that said, I suggest having the twin baby shower between 26 weeks and 32 weeks along.
This will also help ease twin mama’s anxiety of getting everything ready before the twins are born since it’s common for them to be born between 33-37 weeks, depending on the type of twins and overall health of twins and mama.
