My MoDi Twin Pregnancy
I started my blog after I had my twins but have included my blog posts from my MoDi Twin pregnancy back when I just had a personal blog. When we found out we were pregnant with MoDi twins, our oldest child was only 20 months old. We couldn’t believe we were going to have 3 kids under 3 for a while!!
I’ve been where you are right now, just finding out that you’re pregnant with MoDi Twins.
It can be so scary, anxiety provoking, and exciting all at the same time. I was anxious throughout my whole pregnancy, worried that I’d lose one or both of them. We all 3 pulled through but just barely as you can read in my birth story below.
Overall though, my MoDi twin pregnancy had few complications and I always kept up with my biweekly MFM appointments. Not sure what that means? Check out my blog post about Risks During MoDi Twin Pregnancy, I go into more detail there.
Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this page to check out my other posts about twins, what to buy for twins and during your twin pregnancy, the first year with twins, and more twin posts!!

My MoDi Twin Birth Story
We had hoped to make it to 36 weeks with the twins and we did, though things ended a little differently than expected. Instead of going in for a scheduled c-section where I’d be awake, I ended up with HELLP Syndrome, a severe form of preeclampsia, and had to have an emergency c-section under general anesthesia at 36 weeks and 1 day. I’m thankful we made it as long as we did and thankful that I trusted my mama gut and went to the hospital when I knew something wasn’t right.
Haven’t heard of HELLP Syndrome? I hadn’t either until I was diagnosed with it. I’ll explain much more about HELLP Syndrome, my symptoms, and everything that happened that day and the following days with our newborn twins in the posts below.
Postpartum with MoDi Twins
After having my 1st child, I had a great postpartum experience. I didn’t have the same after having my twins. That may be in part because my oldest had just turned 2 when the twins were born, the twins had feeding difficulties, and you know, the whole two babies at once thing is intense.
Below I’ve included a blog post I wrote about how we were able to tell our identical twins apart and also a post about my experience with PPD and rage. I was in denial for MONTHS before I finally admitted to myself and others that something was wrong, deeper than just being overwhelmed with 3 littles.
