Gluten Free Granola Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups Old Fashioned Gluten Free Oats
- 1 cup Almonds
- 1/4 tsp Sea Salt
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp Cacao Powder optional
- 1/2 cup Cacao Nibs or Enjoy Life Mini Chocolate Chips optional but delicious
- 1/2 cup Honey
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil
- 1 Egg White
- 1 cup Raisins or Dried Cranberries optional but delicious addition
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (really, I know half the time recipes tell you do this too early but it won't take you long to get everything ready)
- Mix oats, nuts, cinnamon, cacao powder and cacao nibs or dairy-free chocolate chips into a large bowl.
- Add sweeteners, oil, and egg white.
- Stir, stir, stir
- Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Spread granola onto prepped cookie sheet.
- Bake at 300°F for 45 minutes.
- Stop baking when granola looks toasty brown and smells incredible.
- Take out of oven and let cool completely on cookie sheet.
- Gently break apart into chunks and add raisins if you'd like.
- Once it is completely cool I fill small snack sized zip top bags for grab and go snacks, keeping as many chunks together as possible. You can also put into a large Pyrex container.
- This recipe will make about 8 snack sized bags or fill a 7-cup Pyrex container.
Notes
Why Gluten Free Granola?
To be honest, I came up with this recipe long before I was gluten free but have adapted it for my new dietary restrictions. As you may notice if you are gluten free, it’s often difficult to find gluten free snacks that are grab and go. Granted, this one you have to bake BUT after you bake it once it’ll provide 8 nice sized snacks! Eat one a day and you’re good for a week!
As I’ve written about before I had to become gluten free, dairy free, and soy free, among other foods I had to eliminate, several years ago and I was so glad once I realized how to adapt old recipes to work for me in my new lifestyle. That may sound like no big deal but I used to really be stuck in terms of recipes, I’m a very black and white, type A person who often has a hard time adapting. This was true when it came to recipes as well.
Now that I’m several years into all of this and more used to cooking from scratch, I’ve gotten much better at adapting recipes which is really helpful!

- Not dairy free? Then you can use regular chocolate chips instead of dairy free ones!
- Add shredded coconut
- Add pecans, pepitas, or other nuts (I love shopping Nuts.com)
