Disc Golf Basket and Discs
My 7-year-old has come to love Disc Golf lately and loves to practice. My 5yo twins do too but focusing on the 7yr old here 🙂 It’s great to be able to practice at home before heading to the course. This set includes a portable disc golf target, three discs, and a handy carrying bag.
Q-Bitz Game
The Q-Bitz game is really cool, even I enjoy playing it. It does say ages 8+ but my 7yo does enjoy it. Honestly, it reminds me a bit of an IQ test I used to give back when I was a school psychologist. It’s a fun way to challenge visual dexterity and spatial reasoning. You don’t have to compete against each other if you don’t want, you can just make different designs from the cards.
Remote Control Dump Truck
This remote control dump truck really works! My 7-year-old has brought it outside to help move the mulch that got washed out of the flower beds during a heavy rain and bring it back to the flower beds. He just loaded it up then dumped it where it was supposed to go. It was pretty cool and made cleaning up fun.
The dump truck has a rechargeable battery which is great to not have to run through so many batteries!!
LEGOS
He continues to LOVE Legos so I thought I’d include some of his newer sets.
Lego Dots Panda
We have a couple of these in our home as pandas are loved around here. This is extra neat as it’s not just a decoration, it holds stuff!
LEGO Ice Cream Truck
I’m truly impressed by this set, which is a lot to say for a 37 year old. Lol It didn’t take that long for him to put together and it has a working sliding window like a real food truck and a door that opens. It’s really cool.
LEGO City Great Vehicles Construction Loader
Don’t want to buy the whole
Lego City Construction Trucks and Wrecking Ball
The LEGO City Construction Trucks and Wrecking Ball Crane is a perfect set for your child, especially if they like construction as much as my kids!!
Tech Deck
My boys have started to LOVE Tech Deck fingerboards and ramps. Here are some of my 7-year-olds favorites right now.
Tech Deck Ultra DLX Fingerboard
Need some fingerboards to get started? These are customizable and collectable. They’re quite rugged, even my destructive boys haven’t broken them.
Tech Deck Danny Way Mega Half Pipe
This is a great starter set and it even comes with a fingerboard. This is great for learning tricks and getting started. It can connect to other ramps as they grow their collection.
Tech Deck Neon Mega Park
The Tech Deck Neon Mega Park is by far my 7-year-old’s favorite set. It can stand alone or connect to other Tech Deck sets in any design they’d like. It is glow in the dark and comes with two fingerboards.
Matt Christopher Books
My 7-year-old has gotten into chapter books lately and he absolutely LOVES Matt Christopher books! There are books about all sorts of sports from soccer to hockey to football and more!
He got one book for his birthday and then we ordered a whole set on ebay from someone who was selling a bunch of them together at a very reduced price. These books were published up to 20 years ago or so, so there are a lot of used options out there through Amazon and other sellers.
Robot Kit for Kids
Does your child love to tinker and build things like mine does? Then they are going to love this robot kit! Not only can they make their own robots but they are actually powered by a remote control!! So cool!!
Sewing Kit
My oldest is suddenly really into sewing so we got him this Woodland Animals Craft Kit that he could sew on his own. He was so excited to do the first couple of them and even made the hedgehog for me since I love them!
It’s really simple to do and a great starter kit.
DIY Flower Bouquet
Want something unique and beautiful?! Here it is! A make your own flower bouquet with buttons and felt flowers plus vases! This is something that could easily take hours to do or something that one could come back to time after time to complete. It can be as simple or as complex as they’d like.
Little Passports Activity Boxes
Looking for an activity to give this year instead of just another toy? Check out Little Passports Activity Boxes. There are several different activity boxes for different ages and interests.
My kids and I have tried out a few different Little Passports Activity Boxes including Animals Wild, Craft Discovery, and Space Quest, which I’ve written blog posts on. We have so much fun with them, they’re great educational toys! It’s great to have something that we can work on together while also learning instead of just another toy that is going to sit on the shelf (or let’s be real, the middle of the floor).
With Little Passports Activity Boxes you can buy one box at a time or you can buy a subscription, which ends up being cheaper per box and is the perfect gift that keeps giving!
The buttons below include links to my blog posts as well as a 50% off an annual subscription or 20% off any purchase on their site. The other button links to the Little Passports Gift Guide that will help you decide which one to buy for your little one!
