There are so many great games and more gift ideas for 6-year-olds that my twins love! Gifts for 6-year-olds can be hard to decide on now that older kids have clear interests and already have so many toys! Here are the gifts our 6-year-olds asked for this year and was very excited to receive!

Create an Amazon Wishlist First
Did you know you can create an Amazon Wishlist that you can share with friends and family? We have one for each child, and ourselves! We add items to the list all year and give the links to family who buy the kids birthday and Christmas presents. It’s great because as people buy from the list it disappears so no one buys a duplicate. To add an item to the wishlist, just click on “Add to List” on any Amazon product page then select the list you’d like to add it to.

Guess Who Game
Games are such fun activities for kids and it’s awesome that at this age kids are able to play them more than previous ages! Since we got Guess Who our 6-year-olds have wanted to play it multiple times in a row and day after day. It’s really neat to see them so excited about something that isn’t electronics!
Zingo Game
Zingo is Bingo with a Zing! All 3 boys have been enjoying playing with it with and without us, which is really nice. We have the one with pictures and words but there are also versions for numbers, building words, and sight words.
The game is simple, you slide the Zinger, make a match, fill the board, and win the game! It’s fun to play over and over again!
Candy Land Game
Though Candy Land is rated for ages 3+ it’s one that my 6-year-olds still love to play so I wanted to include it in this list in case you don’t already have it! It’s a great game to help kids develop the skills needed to deal with disappointment when the all too common scenario arises where they are almost to the candy castle and they have to go back to one of the treats! This is something we’re still working on our littles being ok with!
Guess in 10 Game – Many Variations!
The Guess in 10 Animal Planet game looks like a lot of fun! The one pictured below is Animal Planet but they have several variations including Foods Around the World, Professions, Countries of the World, and more!
Ask up to 10 questions for each card to guess what the answer is, or in this version, what the animal is! This game is portable and travel-friendly for road trips, airplane, or if you’re stuck in a cabin and it’s storming outside!
Each card has facts about the animals to help the card holder answer questions posed to them and also to learn more about the animals!

LEGOS
Our 6-year-olds LOVE Legos, he has for years and are so amazing at following the directions and putting them together (if only they’d follow directions I give him that well!!!).
Here are some Lego Sets that they got recently and LOVE!
Lego Safari Wildlife Tree House 3-in-1 Set
This set is rated for ages 7+ but could be given to a 6-year-old if they’re good at following the directions. These 3-in-1 sets are really awesome because they come with 3 sets of instructions and the same Legos can make 3 different things!! This set makes a Safari House, Biplane, and a Catamaran.
Lego Cement Mixer
Our boys LOVE anything construction so Legos + Construction = AMAZING!! Our 6-year-olds put this together right after we went inside after guests left from their little party in the backyard.
Lego Dots
Admittedly, we don’t have these yet, but they look awesome. There are an unlimited amount of things your child can create with Lego Dots. There are plans your kids can follow within the Lego Dots kit and also kits sold separately that are specific designs such as making dinosaurs, etc.
Disney Princess Lego Set
This Disney Princess Creative Castles set includes Belle and Cinderella!
Lego Dinosaur 3-in-1 Set
Here is a smaller set that still packs a lot of fun! With the Mighty Dinosaur set your child can create 3 different dinosaurs from just one set!
Little Passports Activity Boxes
Looking for an activity to give this year instead of just another toy? Check out Little Passports Activity Boxes. There are several different activity boxes for different ages and interests.
My kids and I have tried out a few different Little Passports Activity Boxes including Animals Wild, Craft Discovery, and Space Quest, which I’ve written blog posts on. We have so much fun with them, they’re great educational toys! It’s great to have something that we can work on together while also learning instead of just another toy that is going to sit on the shelf (or let’s be real, the middle of the floor).
With Little Passports Activity Boxes you can buy one box at a time or you can buy a subscription, which ends up being cheaper per box and is the perfect gift that keeps giving!
The buttons below include links to my blog posts as well as a 50% off an annual subscription or 20% off any purchase on their site. The other button links to the Little Passports Gift Guide that will help you decide which one to buy for your little one!

Robot
Robots are so fun! We have a more basic one like this that can talk, dance, play music, and more. This one even has gesture sensing, a remote control, and your child can even program it to do what they want it to do! They can program the robot to dance, go forward, backward, turn in circles, and so much more!
The robot is charged by USB and what I’ve learned over time with our robot is charge it from time to time, even if no one has been using it for a while because they’ll randomly decide they want to use it and it won’t be charged. Let me tell you, that doesn’t go well. Lol
Jokes Book
Kids LOVE jokes and my kids don’t quite understand how to come up with jokes that are actually funny yet. It’s usually just saying something that is true and then they laugh. Doesn’t quite work. Lol However, having a book of jokes can REALLY help them learn how a joke is constructed, what makes it funny, etc. They really love this book!
Book of Mazes
My 6-year-olds LOVE doing mazes! Sometimes they use a pencil to complete them or sometimes they just use a finger so they can do it all over again later! This book is nearly 100 pages of mazes that will keep your kids occupied for quite a while!
Made By Me Ultimate Bead Pets
I remember LOVING these as a kid and I was so excited when my 6-year-olds asked to put these on their wish list!
With this bead pet set it has over 1400 beads, cording, keychains, carabiner clips for putting them on backpacks or wherever, and design templates! Even better, it comes with storage cases! This particular one does seem to have a delay in shipping but it’s so cool, I think it’ll be worth it, just plan ahead.
Hot Wheels Monster Truck Stunt Playset
My boys love monster trucks and I’m sure they’re not alone! This is rated for ages 4-8 but knowing my boys they’ll love it much longer. This set comes with 3 Hot Wheels monster trucks and 3 Hot Wheels 1:64 vehicles and is an Amazon Exclusive.
Rock Painting Kit
The all-inclusive rock painting kit includes everything you need for painting rocks, down to the actual rocks! Not many kits involve everything you need but this one does. It includes 10 river rocks, 2 wooden pieces, 12 non-toxic acrylic paints, 3 paint pens, 2 paint brushes, 1 art smock, transfer stickers and river stand. Even better? It all comes in a backpack!
Your child can work on painting their own rocks at home or on the go at a park or outdoor family gathering.
Painting rocks aids in promoting creativity, fine motor skills, problem-solving, and neural connections within the brain. All that to say, it’s a great activity for kids of all ages.
