Easy Preschool Crafts for Preschoolers

Easy Preschool Crafts Your Twins Will Love

Looking for easy preschool crafts for preschool aged twins? I was looking for crafts my 3 year old twins can do on their own while I’m teaching my 5-year-old Kindergarten, while also developing their fine motor skills. I’m excited with what I found which I’ll share below!

Foam Stickers

I’ve found that regular stickers are still a bit tough for one of my twins to peel off without assistance from me, but foam stickers are where it’s at! The foam stickers are separate from each other and self-adhesive so they just need the white protective backing peeled off before using. The foam is sturdy enough that this isn’t a problem for my 3-year-olds and they can do it all on their own.

I suggest having a garbage can or at least paper grocery bag available for kids to put their scraps and the peel off backing of the self-adhesive items if a garbage can isn’t available.

Sewing / Lacing Cards

Sewing/Lacing cards are great for kids’ fine motor skills and they’re fun!! They’re also mess-free!

These can be used over and over!

Puff Stickers

Much like the foam self-adhesive shapes above, these are easy for preschool-aged children to grab with their tiny fingers because they are raised slightly unlike regular stickers.

I bought these for my boys and honestly when I opened them I was really excited and wanted to take a bunch for myself! Haha!

Keep in mind that these are quite small so ensure that your child is over the stage of putting everything in their mouths before using these. It’d also be a good idea to talk to them about not putting them in their mouths even though there are some stickers that resemble food such as ice cream cones, etc.

Self-Adhesive Rhinestones

Rhinestones are something that as a boy mom I never thought I’d be purchasing but I’m so glad that I did and that they love them! We had some rhinestones that came as part of another craft set and the twins especially were very fond of them. I loved how easy it was for them to use the larger ones on their own. I’m not trying to be a super hands-off parent here but I need the twins to be able to do things largely on their own when I’m teaching my oldest Kindergarten so things like this really help.

I bought the boys a whole set of self-adhesive rhinestones and within two days they were all used up! Granted, it was the week before Valentine’s Day and they used most of them for cards for each other, us as parents, and their grandparents who’s anniversary is Valentine’s Day. These rhinestones have kept them busy for hours which is awesome!

I found that with the pack below, the rhinestones that are 6mm and larger are easiest for my 3-year-olds to use on their own. They actually used all of those and then gave me the tiny ones. That works out for me since then I can use them for my own crafts but if you don’t want to have leftovers, you may want to choose just 6mm and larger self-adhesive rhinestones for your littles.

These are quite small so ensure your children won’t put them in their mouths.

Larger Self-Adhesive Rhinestones

After the kids preferred only the larger rhinestones in the pack above, I found these and purchased them. They are all 6mm or bigger and are all easily used by my 3-year-old twins and 5-year-old. The only downside is they don’t have the same thing on every sheet which sometimes causes issues between the kids but I found I could cut the sheets apart and that helped.

Construction Paper

Any kids project seems to need construction paper, especially this one if you don’t want your kids sticking these self-adhesive shapes and rhinestones to anything they see like walls, tables, doors, etc. Ours loved putting theirs on construction paper and making cards for each other and their stuffed animals.

Any type of construction paper will do, though I’ve found the quality of Crayola brand construction paper to be much better than that of off-brand construction paper.

Rainbow Pom Pom Art

My boys have been really into rainbows lately so I made a simple design on Canva for them to glue pom poms to and then hung them up in their rooms! This is such a simple craft and so fun. They work on fine motor skills since they’re picking up the pom poms and placing them where they want them to go. They work on sorting colors of pom poms and using glue. I found that the traditional glue bottles were hard for them to squeeze and glue sticks don’t work well so bought them these little glitter glue sticks that worked really well.

Below is the rainbow design in Canva and then the finished design after one of my 4yo twins glued on the cotton balls and pom poms. See below to get supplies and the rainbow you can download so your kids can make their own masterpieces!
