Are you looking for a new mat or rug in the kitchen? This anti fatigue mat for kitchen is so supportive we have two of them and I love standing on them. They’ve held up great over the past couple of years and they’ll last many, many more! It took quite a while to figure out which kitchen mat we wanted but I’m glad we went with this one.

The Problem
The kitchen mat that we had needed to be replaced. We actually purchased it before we were married when we went to a garage sale on a driveway near where I lived at the time. I think we got it for $5, it was already used then, and now it’s been used daily for at least 7 years. Not only was the anti-fatigue feature basically non-existent by now but the coffee cup print we based the colors of our kitchen towels on was wearing off at an alarming amount.
So Many Options!
We were on the hunt for something new and classy. We looked online at Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Amazon. I think we spent weeks on this, if not months, as we couldn’t agree on what would look best. I really liked brown swirls and he ended up liking one from Bed Bath & Beyond that was cute but it repeated “Love” three times and though I do love the word love, three times seemed a little excessive.
We also found one that had salt and pepper shakers and said Seasoned with Love or something like that. It was cute and funny but not quite what I was looking for. Finally after so much searching, my husband told me to just order whatever and he’ll be fine with it. So I went back to my original ideas of the brown swirls to match our brown kitchen towels and brown handles on the doors and drawers of our cabinets.
Decision Made!
It’s always a gamble buying online without being able to feel something, like the cushiness of a mat, but with it being COVID times we don’t leave the house much so figured I’d give it a try. I bought this mat (also pictured below) for in front of the sink and once it arrived I instantly fell in love with it. It is so cushy I honestly started doing dishes more than necessary because I loved standing on it. Haha! Seriously though. So I got to thinking…wouldn’t it be nice to have one in front of the kitchen island where we do our meal prep? I mean it only makes sense, right?
Like all purchases, I thought about it for a while, thinking about whether it was really worth it or not. Ultimately I realized that I spend a large amount of time standing there and that it is indeed worth purchasing, especially because we still had money on a gift card so might as well. The original mat for in front of the sink was 20×30 inches but the one for in front of the island is 39×20 inches which works really well for that space.
It’s awesome. I’m so glad we got it and they look great together. I do all of my meal prep at the island now because of this mat, whereas previously I used to do some on other counters. I might even volunteer for more meal prep…we’ll see.

Comfortable, Durable, & Non-Slip
These mats are not only comfy but they don’t slip around either. As you know, I have 3 little boys and they are VERY active. They are constantly running through the kitchen (seriously one is right now as I type this), they ride their ride-on toys through the kitchen, and being home all day I use the kitchen heavily. Even with all those varied uses the mats stay in place.
Of course now I’m going to want to get one for in front of the stove…it’s a real “If you give a mouse a cookie” situation here. I will refrain from getting another one though, the kids love to run through the kitchen when we’re not cooking or baking and love to ride their toys through there so I better leave a path open…for now.
By the way, when the first one arrived my husband said that wasn’t the one he thought we agreed upon…to which I said, hey, you told me to get whatever I wanted. Later he showed me the one he thought we agreed upon and it was the one that said the word love 3 times and I told him while I really do love him, our kitchen, and our house (plus the kids of course…) I didn’t need it to be written tree times on our kitchen mat. Furthermore, standing on the word love, and I think it had the word Blessed on it as well, just seems wrong. Haha! I think that the design I picked out is growing on him now, though my almost 5 year old keeps trying to “follow the maze” that’s on it with his fingers. It’s cute how much this kid loves mazes but doesn’t quite work on this rug of swirls. At least he seems to like it.
