Silicone Corner Self-Groomer

This cat corner self-groomer is great to help your cat groom more efficiently on their own! Sure, brushing is still ideal, but this will help them between brushings. It also comes with catnip that you can put into the sides of the self-groomer to make it more enticing for your cat.

If you don’t want to adhere it to a wall, you could put it on a cat scratcher or a cat house that you have for your cat.

Stainless Steel Water Fountain

The Stainless Steel Water Fountain is great for cats and dogs. It comes with a silicone mat, brushes for cleaning, and 3 filters. Beyond a basic fountain, it features a low water alert and shows on the side how much water is left in the dish. This is especially great for cats who love drinking from the faucet or if you’re going on a trip. Just make sure that your cat gets used to it before you leave.

Automatic Feeder

We have had a LeBistro automatic cat food feeder for years. We actually have the one that my parents got for their dog 20+ years ago. They used it daily for her for 13 years or so and now we’ve been using it for our cat for 10 years or so. It’s amazing how long it has lasted!

I did try an off-brand feeder before we were given the one we have now, and it wasn’t that great. I didn’t always work, seemed to not be feeding accurate amounts, and our cat was easily able to get a lot of food out when she reached her paw up through the feeder.

The LeBistro hasn’t had any of those problems, we are very happy with it.

Litter Box

A litter box is essential for having a cat! We have this one and our cat loves it. It also helps contain litter from spreading all over which is nice. We have removed the swinging door for her comfort as she is a bigger cat and likes to have her head and front paws out the front door while peeing.

Cat Bed

Our cat is quite spoiled and has beds in a couple different places in the house, as well as making her own places to rest including our bed, my office chair, under my son’s desk, and in our kids’ rocking chairs. This cat bed though, is so awesome and versatile. She can hide inside or lay on top and look out a short window.

Pop-Up Hideaway

We got our cat this for Christmas and wasn’t sure if she’d be into it or not. She’s rather picky with what she actually uses. Turns out, she LOVES it! We put it in the corner of the room we have in our house that is basically a classroom so she can hang out with us but also be in her own little space, away from the chaos of 3 little boys learning.

We also hung a toy from the velcro straps on the inside so she has something to play with if she’d like.

Deshedder Cat Brush

We have a few different cat brushes that we rotate between but this one is our favorite. We have a long haired cat so we need to get down pretty deep for a good brushing. She LOVES it when she’s brushed, but mainly just her back and sides, not so much her tummy.

General Cat Brush

We also like this cat brush for in between deshedder brushings. It helps reduce hairballs since we’re getting any extra hair off of her before it gets in her mouth. That is, when we remember to do it regularly!!

This cat brush allows you to just push a button and the cat hair comes off the brush which is SO handy!!

Pet Hair Remover for Furniture

Especially as pet owners, I’m sure we’re all well accustomed to the lint roller brushes with the removable sticky sheets that get used up quickly and are wasteful. I came across a different type of hair removal tool and LOVE it! It’s great for furniture, clothing, whatever has hair on it that you want to get off.

Best of all is it’s not wasteful because it’s reusable by just emptying the hair out into the garbage then you can reuse it again, as shown below.

Nail Clippers

Ensuring your cat has well trimmed nails is important to help them not scratch themselves too deep, you or family members, or your furniture. I have a reminder on my phone to cut my cat’s nails every other week. If I go beyond that timeline I can tell because she’ll start to be at her scratching posts much more and she’ll sometimes accidentally scratch me. These nail clippers are the gold standard and an Amazon top seller!

This brand does have bundle options where you can add one of their brushes or other cat-related items to the bundle along with this clippers and save money. Click the button below to see options.

Cat Toothbrush

Full disclosure here, I got my cat a toothbrush and toothpaste when she first found me 13 years ago but I haven’t kept up with brushing her teeth. Last month she needed to have surgery to remove a cyst by her ear and so we opted to do a teeth cleaning while she was under anesthesia. Wow, it’s amazing how clean her teeth are now!!

I want to keep them clean so I bought a new toothbrush set with toothpaste and have a plan to brush her teeth at least every other week, when I also brush her. Hopefully I can get her used to it!! The vet said it’d be great if I brushed her teeth regularly so that she doesn’t get all that build up again.

If you’re curious, the teeth brushing/scraping was $190 because she was already under general anesthesia. The actual surgery was another $200 so it’s not cheap to get teeth brushed professionally and I obviously don’t want to put her through that again, especially at her age!
